Getting married at All Saints, Rushton.

Lots of people marry in their own local church, but you might like to marry in a different church because it has special significance for you through family or other connections. In 2008 the Church of England published new rules about where you can get married. These include a connection with the parish such as having been baptised there. Please visit the Church of England's useful website yourchurchwedding.org for more information about getting married in church.

What if I live outside the parish?

It is possible to marry in a church of your choice, even if you have no connection with the parish, provided you attend services for at least six months.  At Rushton, we take this to mean that you should attend at least once per month during the six months preceding your wedding. Many couples find the Family Communion service the most convenient to attend, as it starts at 10.00 am instead of 9.15 am.  The atmosphere is very relaxed and new faces are always welcome. Family Communion is normally on the second Sunday of each month.  Please check the church calendar for what's on when.
